She has additionally received international critical acclaim\, and broad peer and public recognition from solo engagements with orchestra (including the National Orchestra of Belgium and the BBC Symphony Orchestra) and recitals in New York and London; and throughout Europe and the United States. \nBackground\n\nWith artistry rooted in 19th century practices\, Ms. Brancart background includes 10 years of work with Spanish master\, Eduardo del Pueyo\, a student of Liszt disciple Marie Jaëll\, as well as later studies with Maria Curcio\, Leon Fleisher and Menahem Pressler. She has impacted many emerging pianists\, many of whom have achieved significant careers as performers (including Jonathan Biss ) and university/conservatory-level teachers. In 2024 Ms. Brancart received the  MTNA “Teacher of the Year” award.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPerformances\nPerformances as a collaborative artist have taken Ms. Brancart across North America and internationally. Ensemble partners include the Cleveland\, Pacifica and Orion String Quartets and many prominent instrumental artists. Additionally\, Ms. Brancart has been a regular guest at the Aspen Music Festival and other important summer music festivals. She has been invited as a judge for competitions including the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition and International Piano Competition André Dumortier (Belgium)\, International Piano Competition Maria Clara Cullell (Costa Rica) and Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (United States). (Recordings)\n\n\nRecordings\n\n\nAlong with her live recording of Chopin’s 24 Etudes\, accompanied by 24 original cooking recipes (released by Delos)\, Ms. Brancart’s discography includes the Brahms-Paganini Variations and Liszt-Paganini Etudes (Koch Discover)\, a live Mozart concerto release by Deutsche Grammophon\, and recordings on the Decca\, Teldec and Telefuncken labels.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n(Please see the NVMTA Event list for events (such as Achievement Awards\, Concerto Competitions\, Northern District Auditions\, Recitals\, and other events)  and consider how your attendance at this lecture might benefit you.

SUMMARY:Adult Student Rehearsal Workshops--October
DESCRIPTION:DETAILS\nIn a friendly and welcoming environment\, we talk about our pieces\, perform for a warm and supportive audience\, and learn how we can develop our playing through constructive suggestions. We also enjoy each others’ company\, support each others’ journeys\, and have fun! \nThese are open REHEARSALS\, not recitals. We expect to hear pieces that are “in progress” in addition to those that are more “complete.” We welcome interested and serious students to share even brief sections of pieces. We want to hear\, share\, and celebrate the process of students’ learning and incremental progress. \nApplication Requirements\nWorkshops are held select Sundays of most months. Choose which workshops to attend: we welcome students to attend just one class\, or a handful\, or all classes. To register\, send an email to ahorowit@yahoo.com. There is no fee. Register any time up until the Wednesday before the workshop. \nEmail Deadline\nThe Wednesday prior to each workshop. Because space is limited\, registration may close earlier than this deadline if the workshop is full. \nEligibility\nIn order to enter NTMVA student events\, either the teacher or student must live in Northern Virginia\, or\, the lessons must be taught in Northern Virginia.
