About Rene' Johnson

René W. Johnson, NCTM, CAGO is a former Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association President and serves as the VMTA Recording secretary. From 2013-2022, René led the creation of MTFest, a digital platform that handles event planning for NVMTA's 21 festivals, recitals, and competitions and serves thousands of students. She was part of a team who re-discovered the music of Albert Rozin (1907-1987) and brought to light over 100 unpublished pieces along with his history on a new website albertrozin.com. She loves being outdoors, backpacking, speaking Spanish, and is an avid organist. She has published articles in the American Music Teacher Magazine, the Canadian Music Teachers Magazine, and The American Organist magazine. She has presented at Local and State MTNA meetings and will present at the National MTNA conference in 2025.
