Huntley Meadows Hike

On August 12, a group of NVMTA teachers enjoyed a hike at Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria. Those who attended were Anne Beamer, Maxine Hall, Chris Kies, Rene Johnson, and Vivian Podgainy. It was a beautiful day, not too hot for August.

Along the way, we encountered  Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Snapping Turtles, Box Turtles, a muskrat, a Luna moth, and lots of butterflies. It was beautiful and peaceful and rejuvenating.

Check out the Social Event Calendar for other events scheduled through the coming school year. We have lunches in various locations in Northern Virginia, Book clubs, a spring hike, and hopefully another concert to attend together. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know other teachers in our group. I hope you’ll join us! Spending time together is rejuvenating and fun.
