Mason Community Arts Academy – French Horn Instructor Search
The Mason Community Arts Academy at George Mason University seeks candidates for the position of part-time French Horn Instructor. Candidates must support the mission and educational program needs of the Academy. He or she will maintain an active studio of private students, starting with 1-2 consistent days per week. The candidate must have experience as a private teacher who understands the needs and capabilities of the developing performer at all stages of artistic development. He or she is expected to create a nurturing, yet challenging teaching and performance environment that fosters successful learning.  The candidate is expected to take an active role in recruiting and retaining students. In an effort to maintain both credibility and visibility within the community, it is expected that the candidate will make a long-term commitment to the Academy and maintain an active performing profile, which includes participation in faculty performance series, both solo and collaborative at the Academy, and beyond.  A Bachelors Degree in French Horn Performance or Music Education is required.

Candidates must support the mission and educational program needs of the Academy. He or she will maintain an active studio of private students, starting with 1-2 consistent days per week. The candidate must have experience as a private teacher who understands the needs and capabilities of the developing performer at all stages of artistic development. He or she is expected to create a nurturing, yet challenging teaching and performance environment that fosters successful learning.  The candidate is expected to take an active role in recruiting and retaining students. The candidate may also be considered for group class teaching opportunities. In an effort to maintain both credibility and visibility within the community, it is expected that the candidate will make a long-term commitment to the Academy and maintain an active performing profile, which includes participation in faculty performance series, both solo and collaborative at the Academy, and beyond.  A Bachelors Degree in Viola Performance or Music Education is required.
